  Is the llama for protecting the goats? I know female donkeys are good watch dogs for livestock, but am unfamiliar with llamas.

  Yes, llama's are supposed to be good protectors of goats...also they will eat the stuff goat's won't, so the grass and brush should be all cleared up between the goats and the llama.
