Baptism and Wedding Renewal

Yesterday was such a wonderful day!!

I am so happy, because my husband has become a believer.  Yes, I thought he was before, for years (since 1997), and so did he.  However, over the years he has come to realize that when he made a profession of faith years ago, he never truly had a change of heart.  He had never truly "become a new creature in Christ".      He did not feel close to God, nor could he understand the feelings that I had about God, although he tried to play the part for a long time.

About three weeks ago, James truly accepted Christ and has God has truly been working in his life, and I can clearly see the change. It is incredible and I am so thankful that God has answered my prayers at long last.   God's timing is ALWAYS right.

Yesterday, James got baptized, to show the world that he is not ashamed of Christ.    Bonnie decided to be baptized too....I posted about last year when she attempted baptism but was too afraid of the water.   It was perfect timing for her to try again, with her daddy by her side.   She showed so much courage!

James and I renewed our wedding vows yesterday (a wonderful anniversary present!).   It couldn't be done on the day of our actual anniversary (Dec. 18), but it was definitely good enough for me!

You can see videos below of the baptism and wedding renewal.   My mom took videos of the two events.

Baptism

Wedding Renewal (you can skip to 3:30 to get to the vows)

She also taped me singing the morning before James was baptized....I got a little emotional through it, but especially near the end, because of the overwhelming events that have happened recently.   God is wonderful, and has answered our prayers and has blessed us richly in so many ways that we do not even deserve.

This is so nice to see. I have been reading about your family for years now and not really sure how I found you, but am so happy I did. I always am so happy when I get a updated in my email that you have posted to your blog. Thanks for allowing us into your life.

I am sooo happy for James and it brings tears to my eyes to see that he was willing to admit that he need to reconnect to God. I have been going through the same thing and acepted Christ into my heart as a child and was also just going through the motion. I have never really had the "TRUE CONNECTION" with christ the way some people talk about it. Until recently, I have join a support group (Celebrate Recovery) and a new church and have begain to fellowship with more christ-like people and now I am seeing things diffrently and one day at a time my life is getting closer to christ.

Thanks for shareing and tell James I am so happy for him and his renewed walk with Christ!!!!
