"Answers in a Time of Miscarriage" Book
The book about miscarriage loss that I've been working on for years could have probably been finished much sooner if I knew more about the printing/publishing process. I feel so bad that it's already been almost 3 years since I first said I was working on it! Hopefully it will not be much longer.
I have contacted many book printing companies over the last few months to see which one I want to go through, and am doing research and reading up on how publishing your own book really works. It's kind of intimidating, to be honest, because I feel like I have no idea what I'm doing.
Since I'm self publishing, I have to try to make sure the book is formatted myself and I have had a friend that proofread for me...and I have a design for the cover. It's hard to tell what the next step is...and I'm waiting for my check from the last mural before I'll be able to pay for the printing. As far as I can tell, the book is ready to be printed, except that I need to print the manuscript out first and see if I notice anything that I don't notice while looking at it on the works document it's currently on.
Does anyone here have experience with self publishing books, or have any information that might help speed along the process? I know it is going to be very expensive but worth it in the long run. Please pray that I find the right place to publish the book and that it won't be much longer before it is ready. I truly hope this book will help others who are going through miscarriage or who know someone going through a loss.
Thank you SO MUCH to all who contributed and have been patiently waiting.

I read a book once titled Agnes by Roberta Agnes Seiwert Lampe. I believe she was self published. Here is the last contact information I had for her:

Good Luck!

Here's a good link for a self-publisher. They will put it on Amazon AND Barnes and Noble!

I forgot to mention that LuLu is also a print on demand type company, thus requiring no money out of pocket for you, except that you have to buy one copy of your book in order to make sure it turns out how you want it. That was a big selling point for me as far as using them as my publisher.

Bethany, whenever this book comes out will be just the right time for it to be published. All in God's time, right? Having endured miscarriages, I know that it will be a blessing to those who will be enduring them in the future. You are one of a minority of people who feel that this is a real loss, not just a medical mishap, over in a day or two. I can't wait to see the results and wish I'd been reading your blog when you asked for contributions. Apparently that wasn't in God's plan. We will all wait patiently, right ladies?
