I Drew it for Truett
Just one month ago, I posted about the drawing I made for Truett Cathy, founder of Chick Fil A. My intentions were actually to just give it to my local Chick Fil A restaurant so that they might hang it on their wall there.
But after I mentioned it on Facebook and this blog, a lot of people suggested that I should send the drawing to the Corporate Headquarters instead. I thought that was a great idea, but I wasn't totally sure how to go about that, so I asked the manager at the Chick Fil A. He said that I should definitely send it to the Headquarters, but he also wanted a print of the drawing so that they could frame it and hang it in their store!
I had the print ready for him that day....and the next week, they already had it hanging up in the store!

But that's not even the best part. The best part is that the public relations manager, Lindsey, had called me up, and asked me what I thought about the idea of them personally hand delivering the original portrait to Truett himself! I was definitely on board with this idea.
About a week before they left, I asked Lindsey if there was any way she could send me a photo of Truett with the drawing. She said she couldn't guarantee it because they didn't know for sure whether he would even be there, but she would definitely try.
I waited and finally got an email from her a few days ago telling me that she got the photo of Truett with the drawing!
She said that the secretary there was most impressed with the American flag lapel pin that I included on Truett's suit in the drawing. (I never would have expected that...if I had known that they would have paid so much attention to that little detail, I probably would have spent more time on it! lol) She said that Truett was very happy with the drawing, and that I could get the picture from her Wednesday (today). That was such awesome news!!
I got the pictures from her today. She actually took 3 of them. They were nicely presented in a pretty Chick Fil A card- so nice, and I will definitely cherish them!
Here is the outside of the card:

And inside it, the picture...

Not only did I get the picture, but Truett also sent Lindsey back with an autographed book, with a personalized message to me, wow! Here is the book (which by the way, is an inspiring book which I highly recommend!):

And here is the message inside it:
Proverbs 22:1- A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold.
Lindsey also told me that she was so grateful that I had told her to get the picture of Truett with the drawing, and here is why. She has been with Chick Fil A since she was 15, and has always thought of Truett as a huge inspiration, but never had gotten to meet him before. When she had first gotten to the headquarters, he wasn't actually there. However, she told the secretary that I had hoped I could get a photo of Truett with the drawing, so about a day later, the secretary called her and told her that he would be there for a little while, and if she could get there in a hurry, she could get the picture of Truett with the drawing. Lindsey was also able to get pictures of herself with Truett, and a hug too! She said it meant a lot to her to finally be able to meet him....so it seems that this has worked out so well for everyone involved! Hurray!!
By the way, I've written so much about Chick Fil A lately that I'm afraid people are going to start thinking I'm affiliated with them or something. lol I'm not, but if I was going to work somewhere, it would be Chick Fil A, for sure. lol

How exciting! Maybe Chick-fil-A will commission prints for all of their stores. (Hint, hint.)

They're definitely a great company. When I was in highschool looking at colleges, I remember going to look at a school in Rome, Georgia that was affiliated with Chick fil a. It's called Berry College and if I remember correctly Chick fil a has a scholarship program with them. It seemed like a really cool place.
