Castle Mural Possibility
I have been so busy this last week! Not only that ,but I'm still going through a lot of morning sickness (hopefully that is a sign the baby is doing well!), so i haven't had much of a chance to do any blogging. I have been posting on Facebook more often because it's quicker and easier, but I miss blogging! Maybe soon the morning sickness will be over, along with my hectic schedule, with so I can take more time to post here!
I am really excited about a new opportunity that has come to me recently! I was contacted by a lady from a local church who was interested in having me paint a mural in her church. When she brought it up to me on the phone, I imagined the mural to be a small, one wall mural for a nursery or something like that....little did I know what a huge project she had in mind! I met her the next day at the church, and she walked me around and told me about what they want- it is a 3600 square foot mural with a castle theme!
She gave me the model that was created by another artist they had contacted in the past, to give me an idea of what they wanted- she told me I could just play around with it and see if i could come up with a similar design. I have never created a plan for a mural of this size, and the task overwhelmed me at first, but I really wanted this job, so I did a lot of research, drew a lot, and ended up with this model:

Don't think I've forgotten about the city mural! I'm still waiting to hear back from them on the funding- apparently it takes them months to get things like this done. I was hoping to get it done this summer before it got cold, but I guess that won't be happening!
I don't know for sure whether I will get to paint this church mural but i think it would be the ideal place to paint (as opposed to outdoors near a highway, like the other mural). I could bring the kids with me- they could do their homeschooling there, and play on the playground outside (they have a really nice one), and if I had the baby before it was done, it wouldn't be a problem bringing the baby while I worked on the mural. It's very exciting thinking about getting this started! I may not know anything for a couple of months but that's okay, as i have so many other things to do anyway!

It's a very unusual theme for a church, but it's also very beautiful.
