So Excited!
I am just so excited ...because I am just one step closer to painting a large building for our city!
The last time that I wrote about this idea, I had specified a particular building that I wanted to paint. The door had opened for me and the local Chamber of Commerce was working on funding and approving the building for me to paint.
However, once I found out I was pregnant, I started having doubts as to whether I really wanted to mess with this building, since it is on a slope and I wouldn't be able to use a Scissor Lift (I would have had to put up scaffolding, which would be a pain to move around and adjust, etc).
So I told the Chamber of Commerce about my concerns, and I was told that there was another building they would absolutely love for me to work on instead, and that they would try to hurry the funding so that I could complete it before it was too late. The building is already approved for painting- the only thing that they need is the funding for the materials.
Here is the building- this wall is 89 feet long and 17 feet high:
I have been looking at other people's murals to get inspiration and motivation-two sites that I have found a lot of that at are these two:
Eric Henn Murals
Eric Grohe Murals
There are some of the loveliest pieces of work in both of those sites. The idea of turning something like this ugly old building into something beautiful to look at is like a wonderful dream that I would love to make happen one day very soon!
Please pray that I will find the strength to be able to do this project and see it to completion before the baby is born! It is truly the largest thing I have ever attempted to do and I would love to see it happen!

That's great that there is a building more suitable for you to paint at this time. Thanks for sharing the links... that is some amazing artwork! Makes me want to take a road trip to see one in person!

I love Eric Henn's current projects where its a throwback to the old style town and looks 3 dimensional. How cool. Are you thinking something like that? All of the artists work is good, I especially love the animals too of course. That will be a great location to work on around here too. Definitely needs something to pretty it up! And you will do a great job!
