Pregnant and Thankful
Thanks so much for all of the really, really kind words and prayers that all of you have sent. I hope that everything will go well this pregnancy!
Yesterday, I took a pregnancy test and I didn't see anything on it for a few minutes. I looked at it again, and thought I could make out a faint line...but I couldn't see the line unless I really studied it hard.
I decided that I must be making it up in my mind, as I have done before. But I looked at it again later and thought I could still see a line, and it was a bit darker. After about 5 minutes, I was able to see the line clearly enough to be absolutely sure it was real.
I was so shocked and wasn't sure whether to really believe it or not. I have been to the point where I had figured I probably wouldn't ever be able to conceive again. So I called the doctor and asked if I could come in that day and get a pregnancy test. They told me to come between 1:00 and 3:00.
When I had the urine test done, the nurse came in and cheerfully said,
"Its negative!"
I was a little surprised by that, and said, "Are you sure? I think that you might need to let it wait a minute and see if you see a line".
She asked if I had taken a home test, so I showed it to her- she said, "That does look like a positive. Do you want to go ahead and take a blood test too?", and I agreed to do that.
So I got my blood drawn, and as I was getting it drawn, I could see the nurse's own pregnancy test line appearing and getting darker. I told her, and she said she could see it too. Then the blood test results turned out positive, although very faintly.
So it was confirmed! I'm really thrilled...I am so thankful for all of my friends and family out there who have been praying, and I just hope that this baby will be healthy and strong. I'll be sure to update when I go to the doctor again.
I'm not sure how far along I am right now- I am guessing about 3 weeks. The doctor wasn't sure because I didn't have the information she needed to know that yet- once I can have an ultrasound we'll have a clearer idea though.
If you've sent me an email, I will try to respond to it as soon as I get a chance! (The prometrium that the doctor prescribed for me (200 mg of progesterone) has made me pretty tired). Thanks again for your encouragement!

Congratulations Bethany! I am SO happy for you and will be praying that all will go well during your pregnancy!
Remember to speak out words of life over this baby and know that God gives you the desires of your heart, so He knows that this baby is much loved and wanted! It won't be long and you'll be in the same boat I'm in right now...less than four weeks away from delivery and just waiting to see that precious little face!

Oh man, that's stinky about your tooth. I hope it gets better sooner rather than later.
I'm on Prometrium too. 200mg, 2x/day. I am probably just barely further along than you, and haven't entirely gotten my hopes up just yet. Praying we both have healthy baby's together in April.

Just wanted to say congratulations and wish you all the best!
I came across your blog through the "misdiagnosed miscarriage" website. I have been trying to conceive for the last 5 years. I miscarried my first pregnancy this past February, and find so much peace, hope and encouragement in reading stories of others. Wishing you a healthy and happy pregnancy!
