Bonnie Wants to Adopt a Mile

I've been meaning to post about this for about a week but the pain has been so bad from my dry sockets (I got three of them!), that I've just had to put it off.  (Thankfully I was able to get a nap in and recover a bit this morning and I took a Lortab that has taken the edge off the pain for a while, so I'm trying to get a little bit of posting in before it wears off. lol)

Bonnie got to spend some alone time with me last week when I went to the grocery store (I had left the other two with James).  She loves it when she gets "mommy/daughter time", and she is SUCH a chatterbox when you get her alone!

While we were driving back home, she noticed one of those "Adopt a Mile" signs, and said,

"What does that mean?"

I told her that meant we could get that mile and clean it up if we wanted to.

She thought about it for a while.  Then later she said,

"Hey mom, I want to adopt a mile. If I adopted a mile, I would clean it and wash it, and take care of it, just like if it was a newborn baby...

...I would make sure that it was clean and safe and warm, just like a sweet little baby."

Then she paused for a minute ,and said as an afterthought, "Well, there is one difference in a mile and a baby though- you can't fit a mile into the bathtub!"

ugh! I never had dry sockets. I won't bother to give you the lecture lol. But live and learn for when the kids have theirs out! it's like having the chicken pox, everyone needs to go thru it once lol.

Unfortunately, I did everything I could to prevent dry sockets, and still ended up getting them. I avoided drinking through straws, spitting, putting any pressure on my mouth whatsover...but got them anyway. The dentist said that it happens regardless of precaution sometimes and there's not much you can do about it all the time. Oh well!

Well then I do apologize! I feel stupid, I thought they were 100% preventable, ok 99% nothing is 100%.

        Anyways, feel better!
