Good News!

I went to the Chamber of Commerce yesterday for the meeting that had been planned....As I was walking to the elevator to get to the building, there was an older man who was going through with me. He was really nice and after we'd talked a little bit I found out that he was the mayor of a neighboring city.    He was going to the same meeting I was.

When we got into the meeting room, he asked me what I was there for (I was there early), so I showed him my portfolio and he seemed very impressed...especially with Caleb's dinosaur room.   Someone else walked in, and the mayor asked me to open the portfolio and show him my dinosaur room mural.   That was really cool.

Lunch from a Mexican restaurant was brought in for everyone and we sat down to eat and the meeting started.    My presentation was first, so I told them all about my idea for the mural on that large building, showed them a picture of the building, and my idea for what the mural would look like.    The President of the Historical Society (who is the one I was needing to convince) was excited about the idea.  She had actually already seen my article in the newspaper, and had cut it out and saved it so she could call me sometime, because coincidentally, she had been seeking someone to paint murals around our town.  That is really amazing!

She has several ideas for what she might want me to do with other buildings in our area, and asked me if I had any other ideas for future murals as well....I gave her all of the ideas I had thought of so far.  She seemed happy with all of them!   She's also looking for someone to restore old signs around town.

It was a success- they are going to be getting funding together so that I can begin. I'm not sure whether they were wanting me to begin on the mural on that one building that I brought up before, or the others that had been brought up...but whatever it is,  I'm just glad knowing something is going to happen!

I'm not sure yet how long it will take them to get the funds together and get things started, but I'll be sure to write a new post when I know more!    Thank you for praying!
