Organizing Cabinets and Pantry
My pantry and cupboards frequently get crowded and disorganized because I cook a lot. I have to organize them every once in a while, or else I'll have spices falling on me when I open the cupboard doors, or I'll never be able to find what I'm looking for!
Here is my kitchen cupboard this morning, before I cleaned it out -
I know. There's really no excuse for this.

And here it is, after....The top shelf is still a little full, but I like to keep my acrylic paints there, and I barely use that shelf anyway.

This is the cupboard above my stove... I tend to just put stuff up there when I don't know where else to put it.

Here it is after:

Here is the pantry before-
See those nifty little storage containers I'm using? They are really handy to have:
'
And here is the after:

I feel much better now.
Oh, and I found a great deal at Goody's, which is going out of business. They were selling their store fixtures, and I was able to purchase THIS for only $25.00!

I have wanted something like this for a very long time. It'll really come in handy when I'm folding and putting away clothes!
And I also was able to get these nice wooden hangers 5 for 1 dollar...The deal was also that if I bought 2 sets of 5, I could get a 3rd set for free....so I ended up getting 35 in all for about $6.00.

Last week, my husband was kind enough to remove the ugly heater in this picture (which was not working anymore):
And yesterday I was able to patch up the large square spot where the heater had been...so you can't tell it was ever there anymore. It's so nice to have the heater out of the way. It was such an eye sore!
Any of you organizing or cleaning anything out? Feel free to share! If you have a blog entry about it, just post the link below in the comments!

Bethany,
THANK you! You restore the faith in me that there are those of us who throw meals together. AND use REAL ingredients! So many blogs I visit will tell you it's so unhealthy to use xyz ingredients. And if you don't use only fresh ingredients you aren't eating healthy.
Your pantry looks like mine. I just re-organized it, so it's similar.
Thanks again! I hope I made sense, I'm on the phone...so I might not make sense!

I had to laugh when I saw the Nyquil! That's how it is around here, too.
I've been cleaning up a storm recently. Mainly just under and behind things and washing curtains, but it sure feels good! I have lots more to catch up on now that my shoulder surgery recovery is almost over. Got the spring cleaning bug a bit early this year!

I'm cleaning out the girl's room. Your earlier entry about it inspired me, and I'm making it a priority to clear out the clothes that are too small or they just plain don't need and clear out the clutter of toys.

I live in the midwest and I'm so sick of winter, just seeing the things you're doing in your home is like a ray of sunshine on a cloudy cold midwestern day! Thanks so much for sharing!

It all looks great. I've been doing some of those things around here too. I'm pretty much done upstairs. I cleaned out all of our closets and sorted through the rest of my boy clothes and figured out what I was going to keep and what I was going to take to the consignment store. I cleaned and organized all the bathroom drawers and linen closets too. Doesn't it just make you feel so much better when that stuff is done... you feel like you accomplish so much because you can actually see the difference.
By the way, you will love the rolling clothes line (as i call it) I've had one for years and use it every time I do laundry. I actually keep mine upstairs so when I'm done folding laundry I can roll it from bedroom to bedroom to put clothes away.

We've been insulating the attic and it has required us to have a "hoe out" in a major way...we've pitched a lot, donated some, and organized the rest...it's great therapy!

Work is so exhausting, but so rewarding in the end when you feel better about yourself for being productive!

That describes my whole bedroom, LOL!
Don't worry, nothing in my house is alphabetized - not even my file cabinet (it's grouped according to type, instead).
