Met An Online Friend This Weekend! :)

For the last several weeks, James has had to go to Georgia about 3 days out of each week. It's been tough to adjust to... but this weekend he told me that he would take me along, if I could find someone to watch the kids.   My mom offered to watch them, and we left Sunday afternoon.

Before we left, I sent an email to Shelly, who has been a friend and a reader of my blog now for about a year or maybe a little longer (I can't remember exactly when we first started talking).   I asked her if she would like to meet me Monday while I was there.   She said she would love to!  So we met at about 10:00 and spent a while together, and then Shelly was kind enough to take me out and buy me a starbucks Frappe.      It was really great to get to meet her in person.   Shelly has 6 kids, two of which are grown.   The other 4 I was able to meet...I wished that my kids were with me, because they would have loved spending time with them.

Here are me, the baby (isn't she cute), and Shelly:

Here is Shelly's son...Since there wasn't much for him to do while we were talking at the hotel, I told him he could use the laptop.

Here is Molly...

She's got a funny personality:

And here is Bridget (I hope I spelled that right):

Both of the girls were really sweet, and kept pulling me from room to room so they could show me everything.  It was so cute.

The next day James and I were not really sure about what we were going to do. We were trying to figure out what we were going to do about the fact that he didn't have the hotel for the third day... I would have to check out by 10:00 and would have no where to be while he was at work the rest of the afternoon.  He had at first suggested that I spend a few hours at the mall. I was going to do that at first, but  Shelly offered to pick me up at checkout time and take me out to eat.     So it worked out perfectly!

We spent the time from 10 - 11:30 at her house, talking and getting to know each other better.  The girls wanted to use my camera and take lots of pictures.

They actually took about 10 pictures like this:

Several pictures like this... LOL:

This one is sweet:

Then Shelly and I left with the baby at 11:30 and ate at Steak and Shake.

It was a pretty fun weekend!

Thanks, Shelly, for meeting with me and letting me get to know you and your precious family!
