In Case Anyone's Wondering
I know it might seem like it, but I haven't lost interest in this blog. Really, I haven't!
I just can't post any pictures, and that makes it really hard for me!
About a week or two ago, I was at my mom's house and I managed to lose my camera either at her house, or mine, or somewhere between our houses.
I feel so lost without my camera because I usually take it with me everywhere and take pictures of everything around here. lol So my mom tore her house apart looking for it, and I looked everywhere here, but never found it.
I was really sad about it because that was the night that I wanted to take the kids to Chick Fil A and get their pictures taken with the cow. So, to help, my mom let me borrow hers while I was there, and that's what I used to take those pictures.
Then, yesterday I found a backup camera I have, and tried using that. It wouldn't work, because it said the memory card was full, but when I tried to delete pictures, it said "no file" existed. So apparently something was wrong with the memory card. Ugh!
I decided finally to format the card and that got the camera to actually take some pictures, so I was really happy. I took a picture of the thing I made for my husband for Christmas, and a few other things that I had been making and cooking. I thought I had found the solution to my picture taking problem... but when it came time to put them on the computer, I couldn't transfer them because the memory card is an XD, which won't fit into my computer without a memory card reader. (I actually have a memory card reader, but I just don't know where it is, so I looked all over for this memory card reader for about 2-3 days and finally decided to just get a new one at Office Max). Sooo...
I purchased the card reader yesterday, and tried it as soon as I got home (did I mention that recently we had a power outage that turned the computer off suddenly and ever since it's been causing me problems?), and the computer kept locking up every time I tried to open up any of the files. It was so frustrating. I had to keep unplugging and replugging the computer a few dozen times, before I finally gave up.
Then, I took the computer to my brother (kevin's) house, because he is really good with computers. I wanted to see if he could help me get it running better. He opened it up and said there was a lot of dust caked inside it...he spent about an hour using compressed air to clean it out. He said the fan had not been running well (so I'll be buying a new fan soon).
When it was working better, it still wouldn't open up the images, so I tried opening them on Kevin's computer, and it worked fine on his. So he burned me a CD full of the pictures and I tried them on my computer and they opened up fine. I was happy that at LEAST I would have the pictures I had taken this week to be able to use.
When I got home, I tried opening the CD again on this computer, and would you believe...every time I tried opening one, it would say "drawing failed", or if not that, the file would be completely corrupted. So it was really frustrating. I think what I need to do is buy a new XD card and see if that fixes my problem .

Bethany, I feel the same way about my camera! It isn't anything special but it is my way of expressing myself WITH the words I type.
I lost a camera due to it falling directly after receiving a bit of recognition on the homeschoolblogger as the blogger of the week! Then I couldn't post much until it was replaced ( after the week was up LOL)
Take heart I am sure it will work for good -I got a better camera out of my mishap;^) Hope you have been well and had a lovely holiday. We are good and baby Jonny is thriving with a growth spurt and constant nursing.TTYL

Don't you just hate it when things like that happen! I'm sorry you're having so much trouble. I had minor problems compared to yours with my camera. My flash decided to act up and drove me crazy for about 8 months. Luckily my husband surprised me with a new one for Christmas.

I feel the same way about taking photos that's the reason why I got a Nokia N73. It only has a 3.2MP but works real great & I don't have to carry a phone AND a camera. I can leave the other camera at home.
But I do love the quality of your pictures with the higher res. Good luck with the search & I hope you find it.
BTW I've RSS-ed your blog. I just love reading it. My blog is at ztosmom(dot)blogspot(dot)com. Drop by sometime.

Travis is excellent with computers too so if you need any other help just let us know. Travis builds all of our computers and is the go to problem guy at his office when people have issues with their computers so he might be able to help!
Hope you had a good holiday otherwise and can't wait for you to meet Arwen!

That sounds really annoying! I know the feeling though. I've been there many times. I hope you get it worked out soon, for your sanity's sake.
