I'm Still Here!

This last week has been so filled up with things to do, it's been almost impossible to find a chance to blog.

Last week  James won 2 tickets to a Hockey game (from work), and he asked if I'd like to go Saturday.  I have never been to ANY sports event, anywhere, ever.  So I was very excited to go and see what it was like.   I don't know anything about Hockey- haven't even watched it on TV before!

My mom watched the kids Saturday night, and James and I headed for Atlanta Georgia....we found the Philips arena and got seated.   I was mesmerized. There were so many people there.

I realized Saturday that I LOVE hockey.  I have to admit that one of my favorite things about it- the fights...which happen again and again.   It's just so exciting to me.     Watch this one that I was able to get on camera:

I'm not a person who usually shouts or makes a lot of noise, but I was definitely making noise at the hockey game.
WOOOOO let's go thrashers!! (stomp stomp stomp stomp stomp).  Too bad our team lost two to nothing!

There was one point during the game that they had free Chick Filet cows dropping from parachutes in the sky.    There were only about a dozen falling on our side (it was so much fun watching all of the people reaching their hands up to the sky to catch a cow), but James caught one for me!!  He did good!

It took us 3 hours to get TO the arena, and 3 hours to get back, so we didn't get back home till about 1:30 in the morning.  The next day we were really tired.   It was such a fun experience!   I hope we get to go back next year.

No I don't...my parents never liked sports so I grew up feeling the same way, but since moving out have found I like some sports. One sport I really do enjoy watching with my husband is the UFC.

Definitely go again. When we lived in Nashville, TN, we used to go to Predators hockey games pretty often. I don't care a bit about watching hockey on TV but it is an absolute blast live! It seems like there is always something exciting going on if you ever get bored with the game too!

I pride myself on HATING all sports which is quite trick since I'm the mother of five boys...

BUT, there is something about hockey. They skate around and graceful as ballerinas in Swan Lake and then *BAM* they're whackin' each other upside the head!

    Yeah, it's way cool...

Bethany, you are so funny! To think you like the fights - but then again, most people do. Did you see any of the news coverage of Sarah Palin going to a hockey game and cheering on the fights? I thought that was funny, too.

That being said, we have been to a couple of San Jose Sharks games, and that are so much fun!! We always sat in the nose bleeder seats (really high up), but still so much fun!

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Thanks for the comments on my blog about baby Isaac! He'll be a month old on Thursday - can hardly believe it!

My undergraduate college has a pretty good hockey team. I went a few times. Hockey is really really fun to watch live and I agree, the fights are fun! When Dan and I first started dating we would play hockey on play station 2. I would stake around trying to "check" people and get in fights instead of trying to score points. hehehehe

Getting to go places with the hubby alone is awesome! I can count on one hand all the times we've gone places without the kids, which makes it so much more special and fun when we do. Last year, we spent the day at Six Flags with some grown-up friends and then we all went to Medieval Times for dinner. It was a blast!

Glad you got to go have fun with your husband!
