Noah Helping Out

Yesterday I witnessed a rare event.

My littlest boy, not contributing to making a mess, but actually helping me clean something. Without my asking first.

I had to take a picture, as it was quite unique.

If it had been Lysol, I might have stopped him, but I didn't mind him using that spray because it was "Green Works" and it doesn't stink and it's supposed to be all natural. He had a washcloth and was scrubbing the floor. He worked all the way from the kitchen to the living room, and was quite thorough, actually!

Don't worry though, he made up for this good deed by spilling gourd seeds all over the livingroom rug this morning.   And then spilling a jug of tea in the kitchen.   Oh, and making a poopy in his pull up this morning.   (Why I felt the need to mention that, I'll probably never know).

Just watch out where he puts the rags when he is done cleaning. I was applauding my 2 year old for cleaning up some spilled water off the kitchen floor one time (without being told), only to learn later that he put the dirty towel back in the clean basket he had gotten it from! I only wonder how many "clean" dry towels I have grabbed now! It is cute to see the little ones willingness to help though, keep encouraging them!

    Hi Bethany,
Somehow they seem to balance the steps backward and forward to come out ahead by the time they're 18!
Aren't kids amazing? (Gotta get 'em helping while they're young! Sounds like you're doing a good job!)

haha my girls actually love cleaning anything if it involves a spray bottle. It could be water. It wouldn't matter.

reminds me of when i was a kid. My mom always assigned me to clean all the glass, mirrors and windows... she knew i loved to carry around that spray bottle.

Okay, that is too cute! But I do have to confess that I don't mop my floor any more if I can help it. My kids are each given a wet dishtowel and a section of the kitchen. They do a pretty good job and I usually only have to do spot-cleaning on the linoleum. But that's the only room in the house without carpet (thanks, previous owners who put carpet in the bathrooms - big mistake!). I'm not going to tell you what the carpet looks like.
