Worked for Me!
I have been needing a vacuum for a while- For the last few months, I have been trying to clean the rug in our livingroom by sweeping, and it doesn't do a thorough job.
I finally bought a vacuum cleaner at a yard sale the other day. It was missing a bag,and I didn't know what kind of bag it took. But I really wanted to use it right away...so I made this a little rectangular bag out of scrap fabric and it worked perfectly! Just taped it really good with packing tape around the place where it attaches to the vacuum.
If you are ever needing a vacuum bag and don't want to go to town to get it right away, you can do this too, and it only takes a few minutes.
Thought I might pass the tip along!

Wow, way to be resourceful! I wonder if rubber bands would work as well to seal in the dust? Anyway, cool beans!

I don't sew either, so I was wondering if a pillowcase would work? I just got rid of a vacuum at a garage sale that I needed bags for but didn't know where to get them!
