Freezing Okra
My parents in law, and my mother, together brought me enough okra to fill this large container:

My mother in law told me that freezing them is very simple: Just wash them, chop them up, and put them in freezer bags. So that's what I did. Filled up about 6 bags with about 3-4 cups in each bag.

that has to be the prettiest okra i've ever seen! really! thanks for the tip, i had no idea how to freeze it!

This might be a silly question but waht is okra? What does it tasty like and what can you prepare with it? Does it go in foods? Can you eat it plain? etc? Okay... looks it might be a few silly questions... hehe

JM, I don't know about where you live, but where I live you can get it right in the produce section at the store, and you can also get it where the olives and pickles are, if you want the pickled okra. HOT pickled okra is awesome!

That is some beautiful okra (we called it okrie LOL) Mine either goes from too small to cut to so big it's tough just over- nigh. You have a gem, enjoy it!!
Oh I love me some okra and tomatoes. My Daddy liked fresh corn in his okra and tomatoes!

My husband calls it okrie too. lol He always makes fun of me for calling it Okra. I'm not a true southerner, I guess.

I love Okra! Fried..it doesn't matter! lol I am craving it after seeing your entry on this. It looks so good! I know I wont get any, anytime soon...so I guess I have to sit here and drool over your pictures! lol
