Book Update - August 4, 08

I wanted to thank all of you again for your support and for your contributions to my book.  I have still been writing it and haven't forgotten.    There were many ladies who contributed, but I do not know (or remember) their last names.

I wanted to add their names in the credits in the book, as a thank you but will like to have their first AND last names to do that with.  If you happen to still visit this blog, and you contributed in some way, could you please just send me an email so I can add your name to the book?

The first names I know of are:

  • Tiffany
  • Cris
  • Jane
  • Lindsey
  • Jennie
  • Tammy
  • Marcie
  • Kay
  • Alicia
  • Linda
  • Louise
If any of you are reading this right now, could you please send me an email?   Thank you...I would hate to leave anyone out...you have all helped so much!

If you're curious as to how far I've gotten, I am working on page 66 page 90 now.  I have a lot more editing to do to what I've already got written, and still have to separate everything into chapters, but I'm getting it done slowly but surely.

One thing that could really help me now are:

  • 1.) Stories and advice from fathers who have lost a child through miscarriage.   I'd like to know how the men felt, how they reacted..what to say to fathers who have lost a child through miscarriage, how to help, etc.
  • 2.) More stories and advice from women who have suffered ectopic loss.

If you would rather contribute privately, you can send me an email. Thank you so much in advance for your help!

Bethany, I found your blog recently looking to make Wikki Stix. I have been blessed especially as I lost a baby at 11 weeks the beginning of July. I have wanted to share with you, but did not want to leave as a comment. I haven't been able to find your email address anywhere!

When do you think you'll finish with your book? How long do you think it will end up being. Good Luck!

JM, I want it to be about 200-300 pages long, at least. That's what I'm sort of aiming for. There are so many aspects to this topic, that it is going to be a lot of work organizing and researching for all that I would like to put in it.

As for when it'll be finished, I have no idea...I wish I did. I'd like to say it'll be done in a year or less, but I can't be completely sure. I still have to do illustrations for it, have to separate the chapters, come up with the title, the table of contents, the index, and everything else that goes along with book writing.

Hopefully it won't take too long for me to figure out how everything works and get it ready for publishing! (I'll be self publishing it)

I am so glad you are still writing the book. I was just thinking about that the other day. Mike and I were talking about how hard that whole time was for us. I'll send him a note letting him know that you are interested in what fathers go through - he's very busy, so I'm not sure if he will be able to. (Also, I haven't forgot about the website questions you had, he is going through his last weeks of school so he's been studying during most of his free time.)

    Hi Bethany,
My husband and I just had our 3rd miscarriage last month. After I found out the baby had died, I wrote a little something about how its life gave God glory even though it was short. I wondered if you would want to read it to you to see if it's something you could use in your book? Could you email me if you would like to see it? Thank you!

    Bethany,
I'm so glad to hear that you are still working on the book. I think it will be a HUGE blessing for other parents when they go to find a book on miscarriage, etc.
I'm not sure if you wrote my name down before, but I had you send some questions to me that I answered. But just in case, my name is Autumn Hanson.

May God continue to bless your and your family!

    Dear Bethany:
In the last year, I have suffered two miscarriages and an ectopic loss of a baby, yes, three babies lost all between August and December of last year. We miscarried at approximately 8 weeks along in August, then in October found out we were pregnant for about 10 hours before I had to have an emergency surgery for my burst tube (ectopic pregnancy), then had another miscarriage in December. I can tell you the ectopic was by far the hardest for me personally, and I would be glad to share a little of our story but your email link above does not work for me. If you still need contributers related to ectopic babies lost, feel free to email me.
    His eternal blessings,
    Malia Russell
