Tammy's Sour Cream Apple Pie, and Fig Jam
I have been itching to make one of Tammy's sour cream apple pies, ever since our apples started ripening. Finally, yesterday I cored and peeled 30 cups worth of apples, so that I could make 6 pies (so we can give away a few).
While I was working on getting 3 of the pies made (I'm going to make the next 3 either today or tomorrow), my husband helped me to make fig jam with the figs that my mother brought over from her garden yesterday. We had to make it yesterday because figs rot quickly. I have never had fig jam before, and didn't know what a pretty color they are until yesterday!
Here is a picture of the pretty pink fig jam (you can find the recipe we used here):

We made 9 pints:

And here is the apple pie...I highly recommend this recipe!

I didn't cut these pies up yet, but here is a picture of a slice of this pie from the last time I made the pie:

I love your blog, first time posting here. The pies look great! Are you planning to freeze any of the pies? I would like to make several and freeze them, but not sure if that would work. Any suggestions?

Hi Inese! I have never frozen a pie before, but I googled it, and here is what I found:

Great looking pies! I first tried pie with sour cream in it a couple of years ago when we travelled to St. Jacob's (it's a mennonite village in Ontario, Canada). We bought peach sour cream and blueberry sour cream. Best pies I have ever had!
I've never tried to make pies...maybe one of these days I will (when I'm not so busy making cakes...)

I tried this pie a while back and it is SO good. Your fig jam looks wonderful! I had a great crop of figs this year and was excited about making jam but the birds got to them before I did and I have NONE left. I hope they enjoyed them LOL

Yum! Everything you make looks so delicious, Bethany!
I found out the hard way once how fast figs go downhill. Oh my! Shockingly fast! And fruit flys just love 'em, don't they?
