Got a Lot To Do This Weekend...

I thought this was a lot- then after I took this picture, a friend of mine brought over 4 more bags of beautiful vegetables!    I'm going to be busy this weekend!

What fun! Canning and preserving the harvest is almost an addiction of mine Last weekend I was canning oodles of different strawberry based goodies, and this weekend, I have a flat of blueberries and lots of mint, lovage, and lavender waiting to be turned into yummy treats for the cold winter that seems so far away.

Your posts about candy making have really inspired me! My jalapeño husband is leaving for the middle east in a few weeks and I shall be sneaking some jalapeño hard candy into his luggage. :o)I never realized there was such a thing until I came across your blog post. Thank you for sharing such a fun & interesting idea!

WOW! You do have alot....hope you got it all done. I see you have some cucumbers & yellow squash on your table. I posted a recipe for yellow squash muffins that you can freeze. I also canned some deli style kosher dill pickles yesterday. I just put the recipe & pics on my blog this evening.

Thank you for the recipes! Your dill pickles look fabulous!! I would love to plant some beautiful dill like what you have picked fresh from the garden.

Kelly, I'm sorry to hear that. Last year, we had a big drought and nothing was growing well. I think that this year made up for that. Maybe soon you'll get some rain!
