Yard Saling Today

We went yard saling this morning...it was a lot of fun!  Among all the books, toys, clothes, etc.... I found a few things that I was super happy with... a really pretty handmade apron (I'm going to try to make others using this one as a pattern cause it's so darn cute!):

$1.00, people.  I love it!!




And just in the nick of time....just when I'm planning to do Once a Month Cooking again...what do I find, but a vacuum sealer for only $2.00!!   I am so happy with this thing!!  It works great...except the seal doesn't work so well on ziplock brand bags. I think I'll have to buy the bags that go with it..maybe I can find some on Ebay. 



Another thing that I got that I like is this little fountain whatchamacalit that I put on the kitchen windowsill so I can have something pretty to enjoy while I wash dishes - $2.00.

This was just today's finds.  My mom was garage saling last week, and she found this awesome, beautiful Elliot Designs bed, complete with mattress, box springs, and even a comforter set to go with it.   She got it for $75.00, and it was brand new!   We looked it up online because we hadn't ever heard of Elliot designs.... turns out the bed would have been about 1,000 new!  WOW!  

So Wednesday, my mom and I spent the entire day cleaning out her room, putting the bed in there, and I painted the room pink.  The mural was already there, and I left it...I think that it really looks nice with the bed!   You have no idea what a difference this made in her room- it was actually light brown walls before!  Yucky!   Now it looks very much like a little girl room!

It makes it so nice, you can park your car (we live on the outskirts) and just walk from sale to sale. I found a box of fabric, ribbon, ric rac, and craft stuff for $2.00. My mom and I drove through town that evening after everything had calmed down and I found a whole box of vintage patterns marked free (I grabbed the whole box) and also an antique Belvedere table/ sewing machine for free (and it works!). I get giddy just thinking about it. I have pictures of my finds here
