About Me
Hi! My name is Bethany...I am a born again Christian, and a homeschooling mom who is somehow fortunate enough to be married to the sweetest man in the world... I have five kids that some days drive
me crazy and other days are sweet little angels. I'm sure you other moms out there can relate! My husband's name is James and my kids are Caleb (10), Bonnie(9), and Noah(5), Ian (1), and Annah (born
August 4, 2011). I also have 2 precious blessings who are now in Heaven. You can see a little bit about who I am at my about the artist
page on my drawing site. I've been married since 1998. I love every moment of being a mom, and as you can probably tell from my blog, I just love arts and crafts of any kind! Please feel free to
post a comment to let me know you were here! It always makes my day to hear from someone! Thank you so much for visiting my blog!
Happy to be called "Mommy": Thinking About Doing OAMC Again!
Thinking About Doing OAMC Again!
It's been a while, but I have finally gotten up the nerve to think about doing Once a Month Cooking again! Any ideas or inspiration? I'll update as I get my list together, along with recipes!
I am trying to get in more sandwiches now since it is getting warmer so it is getting harder for me to do a month menu.
Some of my sandwiches are- Ruebens, bologna, cole slaw mix w/mayo on buns, blt's, breaded chicken breasts w/cheese,mayo and onion on buns, sloppy joes but not manwich stuff(No one likes it here).......
Still trying to find more to add to my list for the summer. Reply to this

Actually, I have it on my "to do" list to sit down and look over your OAMC posts really soon, as I'm going to be putting lots of meals in the freezer for our upcoming birth! I did this with our first and it was really, really helpful - I think I almost enjoyed it more than Paul did! I know you find most of your recipes online (like me ) - have you thought about checking out a book from the library for a change of pace? Reply to this

I just bought a new OAMC cookbook because I wanted to find a healthier way to do OAMC. It's called Holly Clegg's Trim & Terrific Freezer Meals. I love it - if you want I can email you some of the recipes! Her website also has some of them. Here is one that I made and it was great: http://www.hollyclegg.com/Recipe.cfm?id=307 I have not done a true OMAC session in a long time. But this month I did make 8 dinner one Saturday to put in the freezer. And then when I have cooked in the past two weeks- I made double batches to put in the freezer as well. What a life saver! DH & I have talked about doing a variation of OAMC, which is one week or one month's freezer prep. Each complete dinner has the meat and/or veggies all chopped & divvied into freezer bags for different meals, then all you have to do is cook it that night (no prep). Taste & texture are supposed to be more fresh that way. I haven't tried any version yet.
I've been looking at SavingDinner's menus to try one of the free samples once we move into the new house.
You can view their Five For Freezer menus & others there. What do you think about it? I've tried the regular menu mailers there but not the freezer ones. Reply to this
I am all excited now lol!!!
