A Brief Scare! lol
Yesterday, I was in town with the kids, and Caleb asked me,
"Mom, I know the "A" word,
the "B" word,
and the "D" word,
but I can't remember what the "C" word is...do you know?"
I was almost scared to answer! What in the world was he talking about. But I asked...
"No I sure don't...what do the other letters stand for?"
He answered, "Alpha, Beta, and Delta."
Whew...Big sigh of relief!

We were just recently discussing the greek alphabet at breakfast because my daughter wears my sorority shirt as a nightgown.
I tried to explain that the letters were the greek equivalent of our letters, and the middle girl said, "Why don't they just use the real letters?".

Your musing on this is cute! I have been praying for protection for my kids in that same area. We live right down the street from the local park and have enjoyed it a lot... but the boys are getting older and though they have never just gone alone to where other kids could influence them negatively I do wonder if I will have challenges ahead with them getting more curious about the 'embellishments' the older kids have drawn on the very nice play equipment!
There is a lot of BAD education engraved upon what would otherwise be very neutral and wholesome fun there!
SO glad we can have the option to homeschool and protect their innocence.

That's cute. Yesterday we were sitting out on the porch with Alex and his new "bug catcher" kit looking for butterflies. He said, "We need to find a mommy and a daddy so they can have babies." And then he got a confused look on his face and I knew what was coming next.... How do they make the babies? I braced myself, thinking quickly what I would say. But then his attention was diverted to Daddy putting up a new swing on the swing set. This gives me a little more time to get prepared. I want them to keep their innocence as long possible also, like Jacinda said.

I went to public school and learned more about sex and curse words from my own cousins. So unless your whole family has the same values, and homeschools, they WILL find out. And don't forget about those homeschool groups. Just because they are homeschooled does not make them innocent.

I enjoyed reading the other bloggers stories of their children's musings.
I do agree with Tia about many homeschoolers being all that innocent. Christians aren't the only ones who homeschool or unschool.
God will guide you mamas though. He will let you know when it's time to give 'the talk' to your blessings. Keep trusting in Him!

actually there really is no "C" it goes Alpha Beta GAMMA Delta.. there is a Kappa though.. that doesn't show up till later in the alphabet... so sorry tia its not capa.. hehe...

You're right...I was looking it up, cause i didn't remember, and that's what I found. Alpha beta Gamma Delta...maybe that's why Caleb couldn't remember the C word. Cause it was actually a G word.
And of course, if you were going by CB lingo, it'd be:
Alpha Bravo Charlie Delta
I really wasn't sure what he was trying for, or where he even heard it from, to be honest! lol
