Birds Mobile Tutorial
I hope you all had a wonderful Memorial weekend!
I'm sorry I haven't replied to many of the comments that have come in- I've just been so busy- I saw one person (I think it was Angie?
) asking about bean recipes, so I thought I'd just answer that right here.
I don't have very many pinto recipes, but you can see all of the posts with the word "bean" in it, at this link. I hope that the recipes you are thinking of are in that bunch!

Yesterday night, I found the most adorable tutorial for a bird mobile, and when I realized how simple the birds would be to sew, I had to make my own! My mobile didn't turn out as artistic or as balanced as the mobile from the link, but I'm happy with it.... I want to try making more and hopefully next time I can pick out some better matching fabrics, and have a little more practice with balancing the sticks!
I took the first two pictures in my livingroom:

Then I took it outside and hung it on a tree to see how they looked outdoors:

Oh, I love the bird mobile. I think that will have to be added to my to-do list. You did a wonderful job.
And yes, it was me that was asking about the beans. I will check the link you provided. Thanks

My daughter happened to glance at the computer screen as she walked by and I had your pictures up of your mobile and she thought they were real birds!

Those are really cute! I want to make some and I am TERRIFIED of birds! LOL
How did you attach them to the branches?

Tricia, I attached them with a hot glue gun!

Very cute! If I had any sewing/creative talent in that department I would totally try it...but I'll leave it to others to try...mine probably wouldn't look like birds! LOL!

That is so cute! I think this might be a good starter project for teaching my two oldest how to work a needle and thread. I can just see a cute bird mobile in our living room! Looks like a good summer project for us!

Bethany,
I love this project. My husband and I both love birds. I made a curtain out of some bird material I had for the bathroom. I do not have a lot of sewing skills but would love a bird mobile for the bathroom...I will look at a craft store for pre-made birds and then attach them myself to a branch.

I’ve seen progression in every post. Your newer posts are simply wonderful compared to your posts in the past. Keep up the good work.
