Juicy Hamburger

I was watching Gordon Ramsey's "Kitchen Nightmares" the other day, and he was creating the new menu for a restaurant.   He added a burger to the menu, and as I watched him pile the ingredients in, I thought, I can make that!   It's really simple but I have never added anything to my beef patties when I make hamburgers.
Gordon Ramsey added chopped onions, Worcestershire sauce, bread crumbs, egg, pepper and salt to the hamburger meat.   He may have put in more things, but I couldn't remember any more if he did.

I did the same thing, just adding as much as seemed right...and they turned out so well!  I love the way it blackened on the top and bottom...just like the burgers I enjoy and never have been able to duplicate before. I think the egg helps it blacken on the top..   It tastes wonderful too!    Yum Yum Yum...I think this will be the way I make them from now on!

The burger looks delish. Thanks for the reminder. I'll have to add that to the menu for this week.

My mom always made hamburgers like this - they are soooo yummy with Worcestershire added! I don't know what it is about that stuff, but it makes ground beef taste awesome (think meatloaf as well).
    Now you've made me hungry!
    Have a good day Bethany!

My BIL is in the Navy, he'll go out on a submarine for months at a time. Anyway, the point is, he's learned to cook. While he was visiting last time, he made Stuffed hamburgers! He put cheese and bacon inside and it was soooo good. I bit labor intensive - this soundes easier! But now I have two yummy recipes to try soon!

When I was little, Daddy always made our hamburgers like that. They were SOOOO good. I haven't made them that way in ages, but I think, after seeing yours, that I might have to soon. It would be a good break from ham and turkey!

Mmmm, Bethany...that's the way my dad always makes his burgers. He also adds a little bit of garlic, too, for a more "Italian" flare to it. It's delicious. I'm not sure if your children will like garlic, but you can always try.

I use to make our burgers and meatloaf like that when we ate red meat.

I like all Gordon Ramsey's shows, altho I don't care for his foul mouth.

Thank you, Lyssie...I love garlic and will probably try that.

Tia, I know, Gordon does use a lot of profanity. On the British Kitchen show of his, they aren't "bleeped" out..but at least on the American shows they are.

Lin, I used about a pound of meat, and a microwaved 1 piece of bread until it was dry, then crumbled the whole thing into there. So i'm not sure exactly how many crumbs that is, but it doesn't really matter if you get it exactly right...I think just about a fourth to a half a cup should be okay.
