Bunny Rabbit

My brother-in-law's granddaughter, who is only 2 years old, a few days ago was in a car accident, where she bit her tongue nearly in half and bruised her head and scraped her chin pretty badly.     Her father was in the car too and was pretty badly injured.    I felt so sorry for her that since the in-laws would be coming for Thanksgiving yesterday, I'd make a little stuffed toy for them to send home to her.

I got the cute pattern for this rabbit from a box of patterns I received through Freecycle.     I started working on it, Thanksgiving morning, and finished by lunchtime, just in time to bring it up to them.

I used acrylic paint to paint on the eyes, the nose and the mouth.

It's almost as tall as Noah...I had him sit by it for a picture before we left.  He gave it lots of hugs and kisses before leaving it.

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!! Ours was so good...the food was so wonderful. It was so nice to get together with all the family.

    Bethany,
Your talents amaze me. You are so kind to take time out for others and make such a nice gift. I am sure she will be so excited. I hope she and her dad recover quickly.
Our thanksgiving was nice. Just us though but that is still a lot of people to cook for and do the clean up. Thank God for dishwashers.
We did some Christmas shopping today. My daughters ccd class was making Christmas care boxes for the homeless. We got that one finished. My older teens picked angels off of the tree..so we have to find a toy truck and a sweater. I love shopping for others, it gives me such joy.
This year I want to make new stockings for the family. I made some many years ago and they are getting pretty dilapidated. I can sew but only things that require straight lines like curtains.
This year with the loss of our baby has been tough but I did manage to find things I am thankful for.
I am glad you had a nice Thanksgiving.

When I was about here age I almost bit my tongue off. Just a sliver held it on. That was the only time my dad was so happy to live right behind the hospital. We had a gate that opened in our back yard. We always had wierd'os using the door and he begged them to move it or lose it. Well after that he didn't mind any more. I don't remember it... just coloring in a waiting room and my mouth hurting. But I guess it doesn't take long for a tongue to heal. I had plastic surgery to fix me up. lol! No problems now, they say I hasn't shut up since.
