Fun, Full Weekend

I was so excited to get that bucket full of fabrics for such a great price.  Friday, I got them all organized and hung in the closet, because there were too many to just keep in a box.  Here is a picture of most of them together (I couldn't fit all of them into the picture):

So much to sew, sew little time.

I had more aprons in there than I thought. There was one other vintage apron (not pictured), and there was this piece of fabric which I had thought was cute but didn't actually realize it was a cut out and sew apron pattern!   Two of them are on it!

Isn't it adorable???  I decided to make that apron that night, and it only took 10 minutes to cut out and sew...

This is now my favorite apron.

I was itching to do more sewing, because of all the fabrics and laces I have just waiting to be sewn!    Since my cousin was going to have a baby shower soon,  I decided to make her some little baby shoes, a little baby hat, and a little bag to carry it all in...

Here is the bag (a failed Lindie bag pattern- I found these instructions difficult as they don't have follow along pictures, lol ...I still like the way it looks, but it doesn't really look like it was supposed to! ) :

Here are the baby booties (you can find a free pattern for baby booties here):

And this little newborn "feeler" hat...I found a free picture tutorial for this one HERE (edited to fix link- I had accidentally linked to the image and not the link).

After making the little bag above, I wanted to make myself a purse, using the same fabric.  I think that fabric is adorable!    So here is the pattern I used, and here is how it turned out  (I was SO happy with it, and think I might start making some that are similar to this to sell!):

This heart is a button cover that a lady gave to me, along with several more, that she found at a yard sale. I wondered what I might do with it, then the opportunity came along!

Here is how it looks on the inside:
'

And if you completely reverse it, here's what it looks like..

Hope that some of you who sew can use these patterns. They are fun, and easy (with the exception of the Lindie pattern, which was a little more difficult, at least for me.  It might be easier for others)...

This has been a good weekend.....Too bad that the kids have gotten sick though. Last night, Noah had a runny nose and sore throat last night.  He woke up all night tossing and turning, having a fever and not being able to breathe through his nose. (and I couldn't find the vicks vapor rub).   I am hoping that this cold will pass quickly for all of us (James and I haven't gotten it yet but it's only a matter of time. We've already started feeling "woozy".   The other children are getting it too.   I'm going to try to get some fresh air in here...already gave the kids some vitamin C and hope it will help a little.

Have you tried echinacea? It works wonders for my family! As long as you don't have any ragweed allergies it won't make it worse but it certainly has made the colds my family gets last a lot shorter if not stopping them all together

Sam, I really like the idea of using the Echinacea. I told James that we should take some and he said that every time he takes it, it makes him sicker. Do you think a ragweed allergy is why?
I will try it for myself and see what happens! We still have a few capsules left.

Theres this pattern to the left of the picture that looks like it is black with white grapes. You should make a dress or something out of that material. I think it would be adorable.

    Jm, you're so observant.
I am actually going to be using that grape kind in my next project....I don't have any curtains in my kitchen that match the whole black and white theme I have, and I didn't want to use checkers...I think this grape pattern is just the perfect one. I would make it a dress, but (you can't tell in the picture) the texture is a little rough, like curtain material. I will definitely be posting the curtains once they're made though. As long as they don't look too horrible!

OMG, that apron is so cute! I'm trying to make fleece outfits for my 4 kiddos by Christmas, but can only get to my stepmom's house once a week- I might have to find small aprons and have them start helping in the kitchen, lol.

I guess that there is not a good idea to compose the essay topic by your own efforts! I think, it is faster to buy the business term paper at classification essay service, because it can save time.
