New Look for our Office Chair
I was so tired of looking at this chair. The kids have, over the last 5 years, poured coke on this chair, smeared paint on it, stuck food on it, etc.
Look at it! It's embarrassing.
I was thinking about buying a new chair, but then thought it might be more affordable (and rewarding!) to just cover it myself.
I found about a yard of some pretty fabric from the box I've got, and started fitting it around the chair...then I sewed it stitch by stitch to the bottom of the chair (that part took about 2 hours and I pricked my finger about 25 times)...and I put a long piece around the top, wrong side out, and traced where I would need to sew, and sewed that part with my sewing machine. Then, sewed the bottom of the side piece by hand. Then, I made a little bow and sewed it to the back of the chair. It was pretty much an all day project, but it was rewarding! It makes such a difference!

My thoguhts exactly!! My office chair is AWFUL!!! It's pleather tho lol. One of those tall back, executive chairs. Had this chair probably 15 yrs. The back (where my back goes lol) is fine, the seat, is ripped up. Currently I have 2 towels down lol. Talk about embarrassing!!! I work from home, (I'm a case worker for a major health insurance company)
Anywho, Bethany, when are coming to do my chair????

How pretty! My office chair is falling apart. I should really try to do this myself- I've upholstered chairs before, never thought to do it with this one.
