Nighty nightgown

My husband surprised me yesterday!   James said he wanted to take a drive with all of us...and we got in the car, and drove for about 40 minutes.  Then he pulled into the parking lot of a great fabric store that I like.  He told me he'd watch the kids while I went in there and shopped for a while.  That was so nice, and totally unexpected!

I bought some patterns while I was there, and some material, lace, and elastic.  We also went to walmart to get some more fabric, and Bonnie picked out a nightgown pattern she really wanted, along with some purple kitty fabric she wanted it to be in.

The first pattern I tried when I got home was a nightgown pattern I had bought for Bonnie.  Silly me made a pattern about 3 sizes too large for her...LOL    But, it still fits her okay, it just looks a little big.  Also, I ran out of the purple kitty fabric and had to make the sleeves red.

She loves it anyway, and she will be able to fit into it for a few years before we have to get rid of it!  So that's a good thing.

My MIL made a beloved nightgown for my SIL when she was about that age, shaped like a large T-shirt w/ stretchy cotton jersey material, and my SIL wore it until her early teens b/c once it was way too small to be a nightgown, it still fit as a T-shirt!

If this is Bonnie's fave, I could see you taking the fabric & turning it into a throw pillow or stuffed kitty for her bed, after she outgrows it.
