A Handbag and another apron
I've been busy this week. Yesterday I finally finished an apron I've been working on for about 4 days. It's a halter top apron...I got the pattern off of Ebay, and the instructions were so hard (for me, a novice. I have to see pictures to understand directions). I finally ended up working it out on my own, so it was much different than the actual pattern was supposed to look, but I like it!
Goodness I love aprons!! Especially vintage ones. And I've been findings tons of free patterns on the internet. My favorites folder is filled to the brim.
Here's a closeup of the fabric...isn't it adorable? Little teacups and polka dots...love it!
And just a little bit ago, I finished this little handbag... took me about 1 hour to make. This was my second attempt....my first attempt was a flop...but Bonnie liked it and wanted to play with it anyway, so it worked out! lol
I found the tutorial online at this link. You may have to register to see the pictures. Registration is free, and I don't think they spam you. There are SO many free resources and tutorials there, it is WONDERFUL.
I was thinking about doing another giveaway,...this time, of one handbag like the one pictured above, and also I wanted to giveaway a free custom pencil drawing, sort of like this one:
Does anyone have any ideas for what the contest rules should be? I don't want it to be just a "comment to enter" contest. It seems rather dull.... I want it to be something where you do something. something fun. Maybe enter your child's artwork? Maybe write a poem? Maybe.....? I was brainstorming but nothing seems just right, yet. Maybe one of you has an idea. I would love to giveaway these gifts as something for you to use for Christmas gifts, or just to keep for yourself. Let me know what your thoughts are, and I'll go from there!

A custom made pencil drawing? Wow! That would be a special prize. I like the idea of submitting children's artwork but I am sure there are many of with different aged children so it would be hard to judge the art of a 5 year old compared to a 10 year old KWIM? Great idea though and I would love to participate once you get it figured out

Since you are really into crafts- Maybe submitting a unique craft idea for the holidays.

Or maybe write about a Mommy Moment- something that has happened to you as a Mom- whether it be a happy, funny or embarassing moment, etc.

Since you want the prize to be used as a Christmas gift, how about sending in pictures of something you have created and given as a gift...

I like all the ideas. I'd love to see a poetry contest. Maybe have your readers vote? You could make a theme or leave it to the writer.

You are so talented! WHEN do you find time to do all this and clean and take care of kiddos? I am amazed! Maybe I am not organized enough?! I would love to sew, but can't find enough time to keep the house clean..LOL!
I love the idea of a funny/embarrassing/special mommy moment...I don't know how talented I would be for some of the other ideas! LOL

I'd love if it was something that those of us who don't have any children could enter, your drawings are so beautiful and I know a lot of people who would be blessed by one this Christmas. I'm looking forward to see what you're going to do..

Oooh great ideas so far! I agree, I'd like to do something that everyone can do, not just mommies, since I know there are many women who visit here who don't have children.
I'm going to be garage saling this morning, and I'll think about it some. I'm thinking about adding other prizes too. Many prizes, so I could draw many names, and there would be more than just one winner. That would be nice.
Anyway, I'll think about all the ideas posted! Thank you so much and if you think of anymore, just feel free to share!
(oh and if anyone else would like to donate something for this raffle thing as well, you're more than welcome to! You'd get free advertisement for your website, and you'd have the good feeling of knowing you made someone's day.

The contest sounds great, but I don't have any ideas for it. I'm not very creative so I think they only way I'll even be able to enter is if it's something super easy lol (I have some funny baby pics of my nephews though
I'm having a giveaway right now but it isn't doing so well (My site isn't that popular so it's hard lol), but I'm trying to give away a book, gift card and package of pink tulip bulbs. (I have two entries so far) Know anyone that would like to enter?

How about a 'share the love' type thing, where entry for your giveaways would be for the commenter to have a giveaway of their own, either via their blog or just an e-mail address where entries could be taken. Each person could decide for themselves what their giveaway item would be.
I've been wanting to do something like this myself, but I don't have the readership that you do, so I'm not sure how many people would actually see it.
