Topsy Turvy Doll - (Also Known as Upside Down doll).

UPDATED: LINKS TO THE PATTERN AT BOTTOM OF THIS POST!

I have a book which shows pictures of rag dolls and steps on making them....

Inside the book was the pattern for this doll...isn't she cute?    I changed her face and hair so she doesn't look too much like the one pictured within the book, but she still has the basic shape and style.
If any of you are interested in the pattern, I might scan it in and post it for you.

Now here's where it gets fun.....lift up the skirt and....

Flip it around....

Bonnie was asking me the whole time I made this (it took about 8 hours if you count last night and this morning when I worked on it), "When will it be done?  Is it for me?   When can I play with it? "   She loves it!!!

**********************************************
As requested, here is the pattern, straight from the book.   I'm glad you all like it.

Just to let you know, the book says to double the size of the pattern as shown, but I actually just did it the size it is, and the doll is able to fit into one hand.  However, you can do it whichever way you want.  You may want it to be bigger.  Just wanted to let you know, you can pretty much size it however you want to (within reason) and it should turn out fine.

Very cute! I have one of these that someone made when my sister and I are little. It is Little Red Riding hood. The other side is a grandmother/wolf. I just got it out for Genna to play with.

That is adorable! I remember my mom making me a rag doll when I was little. I was so attached to it. This is so sweet and clever.

Thanks for posting the pattern, Bethany ... got it saved in a folder on my computer now so I can look at it closer and make one when I'm able to.

Do you realise you are breaking the copyright law by scanning pages of a book and putting it on your website? To be fair to the author of the book, you should just give the details of the book and people can buy it for themselves.

I'm sorry, Vireya...I had posted the name of the book (plus a link to where you can buy it) on another post but must have forgotten to on this post. Here is the link right here:

Hi, I'm a doll maker. This doll is so "cute" and looks "easy" to make. Thanks so much for sharing the pattern and making it "free". I support and promote breast cancer awareness and want to somehow use it in that area in addition to making them for our anticipated great grandson and twin great nieces on the way in March!

Hi THANK YOU so much for the pattern.
I had one of these dolls as a small child which my grandmother made for me.
I loved it and wanted to make a similar one for a great niece but most people I have spoken to had no idea what I was talking about.
