Apron Inspired by Catherine
I was inspired by a post about aprons that Catherine from Making it Home Magazine made a few days ago.
I loved the vintage looking aprons she had pictured! They looked so simple to make, that I took a look in
that box of sewing stuff I got a couple of months ago, and found a great, very thin and almost transparent cloth to use for the apron. I love it!
There was also just enough lace to add to the hearts and around the apron. It took about 2 hours to make this apron.
It's soooooo simple to make this kind of apron. If you already have a kitchen apron, just trace around the bottom half of it (this is actually what I did) to make the skirt of your apron, cut it out, and then hem it up, and add lace and pockets (if you desire). My pockets aren't functional though, I made them just to look pretty this time.

How cute! I wish I had a sewing machine!! I love aprons. I was given several when I got married 2 1/2 years ago... I am ready for some new ones now!!

Jessica, congratulations on getting a good price on all of them! There are so many ways you could use them. Are they wooden or cardboard?
I have never actually used cigar boxes myself, but I have painted a big box like a treasure chest once:

You could probably do something like that. Or, you could try out some of these ideas:

That is so cute! I should make some like that for my girls. The ones they have are full body and are getting kind of small so these would be perfect. You should try making one for Bonnie that matches.

Thank you all so much, and Jenni, I was actually thinking about making Bonnie one too! Thanks for the idea!

Bethany, that is adorable! I am not much of a seamstress - would you say it's easy for a "sewing-challenged" person to make?
Thanks for the great ideas!

It's probably one of the easiest things I've sewn so far. I'm still a novice too, so believe me, if I can do it, you can do it too! In fact, you're probably likely to do a better job!
Please let me know if you do sew one!
