Lynn's experience with OAMC!
I got a comment from Lynn yesterday, saying this:
"I just wanted to let you know that, because of reading about your once a month cooking, I decided to try it. I cooked all last weekend and wound up with 35 meals to put in my freezer. I used vacuum sealer bags on quite a few of the meals. Even though this was quite a lot of work, spacing it out over 3 days helped. It's so nice to know that I'll always have something good for dinner without having to heat up the kitchen! I did a few posts about this cooking on my blog: http://lynneslittlecorner.blogspot.com if you're interested in reading about it. Thanks so much for the inspiration!"
I checked out her website, and WOW. She really impressed me with what she prepared.... Take a look at Lynn's freezer! Now I want to come to her house for dinner!
(P.S. This isn't all...go to her blog to see what's inside the door!)

According to her blog, here is what Lynn was able to prepare for this month:
Crab cakes - 2 meals
Spaghetti sauce and meatballs - 3 meals
Chicken fajitas - 2 meals
Spaghetti, meatballs and broccoli - 2 meals
Taco soup - 1 meal and enough for 1 lunch
Cheesy Rotel vegetable soup - 1 meal and enough for 1 lunch
Beef stew - 3 meals
King Ranch chicken casserole - 2 meals
Chicken and broccoli braid - 2 meals
Meatloaf - 2 meals and probably enough leftover for a couple sandwiches from each meal
Quick chicken spaghetti - 1 meal and probably enough leftover for a lunch
Shrimp and wild rice casserole - 1 meal
Stuffed peppers - 3 meals
Baked ziti - 2 meals
Cincinnati chili - 2 meals
Taco meat - 2 meals
Hamburgers - 4 meals
Chicken chili - 2 meals
That is so impressive!

Hi - I was just glancing at your blog and saw this picture of a freezer and thought it looked familiar. Thanks so much for posting my comment to you. I really enjoyed doing this cooking. I was telling my husband tonight that I'm going to keep doing this. I may not do a month's worth of cooking at one time again, but I definitely will redo meals that we have used in order to keep the freezer filled. It's such a nice feeling to know that there are meals ready to go, with no worry about not having the right ingredients or the time to cook. Thanks so much for the inspiration!
And congratulations on the pregnancy!!

First I need to practice on recipes so I cook a lot of what works well. Second I need to get a large freezer & try this out sometime. I'll have to pass along this idea.
