This looks so neat, but I admit I am skeptical. My husband doesn't like to eat leftovers so I am concerned that he wouldn't like the re-heated foods... You don't mention how you re-cook them after they are frozen. How does that work?

That's one of the biggest concerns I had before I started this too, because I thought that if it was frozen, it would lose it's fresh taste... but when I decided to go for it, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the food tastes just as good out of the oven from frozen, as it does it I just prepared it. This is just my experience.

The way that I cook them.. First, I take the bag out...I break the frozen stuff while it's still in the bag (with a hammer or something (other people have probably come up with a better way, but this is how I do it)), so its easier to put in a pan. I place the frozen pieces into a casserole pan, 8 inch square, or 9 x 13, depending on how much there is. I turn the oven onto 325 degrees farenheit, and let the meal cook for 1 hour. I may need to check some of them as they are cooking and maybe add water as needed. Other than that, I just take it out after an hour...if it's a casserole, I give it a quick stir, and dinner is served!
325 degrees lets it cook at a low enough temperature that it gets cooked all the way through without burning it or something like that.

Wow, look at all that food! Your family sure is gonna be eatin' good! Me...I like to do some of the OAMC thing, but I don't do all those recipes in one shot. I just make one or two extra meals a week to freeze. It's fun to look for freezable recipes--so thanks for the link! It really is great to be able to pull something from the freezer when I don't feel like cooking, LOL!
Oh...I love the black-and-white backsplash in your kitchen!

Thank you, Momtofur, by the way, I browsed your blog a little ...I like the post about Abundance.

Thanks for the comment on the black and white kitchen...I laid the tile myself about 2 years ago, and painted those black and white checkers on the wall- took forever!

I really like your idea of once a month cooking. Question - do you fully cook the meals before you freeze them? Or are some of them uncooked and just need to be put in the oven? I'd like to do this with my daughter - she works all day and doesn't have time to make a meal when she gets home. Plus I'll do some for myself. Great idea and great pictures. I need to look at all the recipes too.

Lynne, it's half and half. Some of the recipes are fully cooked beforehand, and just reheated...others are put in there unfinished, and cooked through later. All my meats are usually cooked through before they are put in the freezer though.

Hi Bethany! I'm a first time commenter here. I went shopping today and bought the ingredients for six of the meals on your May plan. I bought enough to make double of everything and spent $89.00 - not bad if I do say so myself. I did have a few things already in my larder. I'm going to do a mini session of two weeks worth to see how it all comes out. I'll definitely let you know! I'm going to do a blog post about it as well, if all goes as planned...
