15 meals prepared, 15 to go!

Yesterday afternoon, I got started.... First, I rolled out a pizza crust for a pizza, and added the toppings:

Then, I tried to figure out how I would store it in the freezer. I decided to wrap it in aluminum foil....it seems to have worked!   I made sure to wrap it a few times over to make sure the air wouldn't seep in.

Caleb helped me make the second pizza:

Here are a bunch of gallon sized bags containing deboned chicken, diced potatoes and onions, and other such things...

When I was at the store, I realized how expensive bagels were....so I decided that instead of bagel pizzas, I would make sub sandwich bread pizzas.   Much less expensive.

In order to store them, I had to lie them on a cookie sheet like this, and stick them in the freezer for a couple of hours.

Once they were frozen, I took them out and put them in ziplock baggies.

Next was the Shredded Beef Tacos....All I had to do was crumble the roast up, and put taco seasoning inside, shake it up, then put in a bag of cheese.  (also, a bag of tortillas which is not pictured).

Next was the barbeque.... I filled three bags with the barbeque I cooked the day before:

And put the sauce in little baggies inside the bags:

Next, I cooked up a batch of bacon on a cookie sheet in the oven on 350 degrees until they looked done.

Here is the bacon cheeseburger meal....which I was REALLY surprised at how tasty it was!!   I will be making this again, no doubt!!

Here is the hawaiian chicken...this is very good....I loved it last time we did the OAMC and I love it again.  The pineapples in there really make it delicious.

Here is the broccoli stuffing casserole, as I was mixing it up.   One little taste of this, and my husband commented that it was really good.

Here's the rice I was steaming to go along with many of the above meals:

And the sausage was cooking for the next meal:

And here it is...spicy sausage and peppers over rice...

Here's the broccoli casserole in the bag ready to freeze:

And the bacon cheeseburger bake:

And the hawaiian chicken:

And the Sausage and Peppers bake....

More to come soon!

Hi Bethany. Just a quick question. How will you bake the pizzas? Will you thaw them first and then bake or just put them into the oven straight from the freezer? I'm really intrigued by this! LOL I've tried to make homemade frozen pizza before and put it into the oven w/o thawing and it didn't rise well and the crust ended up kind of weird and crunchy.

Thanks for sharing your recipes and pics. My kids wanna do a OAMC now! LOL

I want some of your energy! LOL!!! Great job! It all looks delicious.
BTW, my blog didn't last long. I realized this just isn't the season for me to have a blog. I sure do love visiting yours though.
    Blessings,

Congrats on the OAMC progress, Bethany! It IS a lot of work, but I agree - it feels so good knowing what is for dinner ahead of time. It helps us stick to our budget, that's for sure. I love your pizza idea! I've read about "pizza kits" before, where you package a ball of dough and the rest of the ingredients together for a quick meal. Your idea looks great, though. I wonder if you could by cardboard pizza rounds from a local pizza place or a Hobby Lobby type store for cheap? Then you could pre-bake the crust and use the cardboard to add some strength. I've thought about trying this, but haven't made it this far yet. Have to get the hubby into the swing of cooking a bit more while he's home and I'm working!! Let us know how the recipes are, I want to try some of the ones you listed.
    Have a great day!

You did a wonderful job. I hope you will share some of the recipes! On a side note -- Aldi's sells Hoagie Rolls like you used in your pizzas and I am going to make a batch of those and freeze them for my family. What a great and healthier option for them for lunch! Your post made me hungry!!

    Rebecca, thanks!

Missy, I'm really kind of experimenting with the pizzas....I wrapped them in aluminum foil, and the way I transferred them to the freezer was by laying them on a pizza pan, then sliding them off on the bottom of the freezer, very carefully.
I think that I will be cooking it from the frozen state with one, and letting the second one thaw first before cooking, that way I can see which one seems to work better.
Oh and I hope you do get a chance to do the OAMC! It really does lift the burden of having to fix something every day...or the burden of not having anything to make, and having to go to the store to buy items to make dinner with.

Carol, thank you, and I'm sorry your blog's overwith....maybe pretty soon you'll have more time on your hands to do a blog...I know with 6 kids it can't be easy to get anything extra done!

Vicky, a cardboard cutout would have really helped me a lot! Wish I had thought of it beforehand! LOL

Michele, that is great! I think those should really taste good!

Looks great. Just curious why you freeze the bbq and the sauce in separate baggies? I mix ours together to freeze, then dump it frozen into the crock pot and the smell in the house has us drooling way before dinner.

Mc, sorry it took me so long to reply. The bags of sauce take only seconds to thaw out by placing them under a stream of hot water, so I thaw it out, cook the meat in the oven for about 30 minutes, and then pour the sauce over it and stir it up. I really never thought about doing it the other day. Your way would be great too! Sounds delicious.

WOW! Fantastic job! I'm popping over from Tammy's blog. I used to do OAMC when I was working full time and getting a masters at night. Now that I'm a SAHM it's not so vital. But it sure is nice to have some meals tucked away just in case.
