Once a Month cooking list, Prep work directions, and Ingredient list!

I worked all night last night, and finally have my recipe list, ingredient list, and even a prep work directions list compiled and ready to go!   Hurray!

This time, I think that I have everything covered in the lists...nothing is left out, as far as I know.

I have 21 recipes in the recipe list. Some of them I will be making 2-3 times.   I collected the recipes from the following sites:  Christy's Clipart, Tammy's Recipes, Cheapcooking.com, Cooks.com, and RecipeZaar.com.

Recipe list

I have all the ingredients compiled and listed categorically at the link below:

Grocery List

And here are my directions for the prep day....Explains how to get started on the first day, getting all the main ingredients cooked, chopped, etc in order to make the second day's work easier.

OAMC "Getting Ready" on Prep Day.

I hope this will be helpful to any of you who are considering trying out Once a Month Cooking!  I will be most likely doing my shopping (and possibly prep work) today, and cooking the meals tomorrow.      If not, I'll be doing the shopping today, prep work tomorrow, then actually putting the ingredients together into meals the next day.   If everything goes as planned anyway.

Sounds like you are on your way to having some free time this next month by not having to think of what's for dinner. Wanted to view your recipes and such. I have Microsoft Word, but not Word Processor, and it just comes up all jibberish. Wonder how I could view it?

Bethany- thank you so much for this post. I've never done OAMC and I don't have a real need for it in regular practice at this point in my life, but I would really like to do one month of it in advance of my second child's birth in August and this post will be a really wonderful resource for me. Thank you so much- it is much appreciated. Bright blessings to you and your beautiful family.

very organized! Let me know if the binder etc works after about 3 weeksSeriously I am wondering if it works consistently or if you end up burning out. That's what happens to me when I try that sort of thing. Maybe I'm just not that type. Hope it works for you though. It's really nice to have the house etc in order.

Essie, thanks for letting me know about that. I forgot that other people sometimes can't open those files. I put up new links so you can directly get it from my website.

Tara, thank you so much for the kind words.

Mama, it's not so much getting burned out as it is that I get to where I forget to look in my binder. It's so annoying...I'vm very forgetful, and sometimes just a tad lazy.
That's when the house gets chaotic again for me. It truly helps me to have something that tells me what to do, and a time to do it. But I am not consistent...and like you, I can keep up for several weeks, then I'll slowly get out of my routine. That's why I'm revamping my binder, hoping to get back into the cycle of keeping the house clean again. I love the way it feels when the house is maintained!

    Bethany,
I have a question about the Pepperjack Pizza. Are you using a homemade crust or storebought? Also, will you assemble the pizza and then freeze it to bake the day you are serving it? It sounds so good and I'm currently compiling a list for OAMC too! The list you shared has really helped to inspire me some more. Thank you for that! I love to have foods in my freezer ready to go....what a BIG relief! Let us know how your day of cooking goes! Good luck!

Oh Chris! Thank you for bringing that up! I meant to add a pizza crust to the recipe for those of you who actually use the grocery list, and want to have it premade.... and I forgot.

I'll be making the crust from scratch myself. All the ingredients you need to make the crust from scratch are included in my grocery list. You can find the recipe here at Tammy's site:

    I hope this is helpful!
