Still working on the recipe list....

Today I am getting the list compiled some more. I am up to 16 recipes...many of these can be doubled or tripled.   I'm not sure which ones I'll be doubling yet.   I'm really hoping to get this done soon!

Also, I'm planning to sort through all of our clothes and get rid of the ones we don't need.  We probably have hundreds of items of clothing that are too small for us, or just something we don't need anymore, that I can give away and get out of the house.

Yesterday I spent all day cleaning out our piano room (where all our bookshelves are).... I got rid of about 150-200 books. It was hard, because I always want to hang onto them...but we seriously just don't have room for them. The room looks soooooo much better now!  I also have the kids' schoolwork bookshelf all organized and it looks great!   I have the books separated by category...no more long book hunts.  I know where each one is now.

Congratulations on your progress! I am looking forward to seeing how this once a month cooking goes. I mentioned it to my husband and we talked about doing something on a smaller scale (our freezer isn't huge) and having meals for 5-10 days prepared ahead of time.

Ok, You're the woman! LOL!!! That is great that you got so much accomplished.

Have you heard of versatainers? They are the black containers that take out food comes in. They can go from freezer to microwave. They sell them by the case on ebay. I'm thinking of maybe getting some of these in the future. They have sturdy lids and would stack in the freezer really well and can be reused. I also have seen foil pans with cardboard or foil lids on ebay. I know I'd have to be careful with tomato products in the foil ones.

I really look forward to reading more about your oamc.

Bethany. Girl you still amaze me. How do you do it. I want you and your family to come to my house and show me how you do it, LOL.
Seriously, you are always doing such big projects and you COMPLETE them! I can barely make one dinner without going bonkers trying to chase my kids and keep them safe. Caleb, Bonnie and Noah must be so well behaved for you to get everything you do done.
God Bless you sweetie. I think of you often and I miss ya!

With having such a large family I do a lot of cooking. I find planning my meals in advance so when I go to the store I buy only what I need. I have to shop every 2 weeks but would love to figure out how to do it once a month. I make these wonderful wheat yeast rolls that is my aunt's recipe. They are quick and taste good. My whole family (and they can be picky) love them. The recipe is:
    1 1/3 c. water (warm)
    1 pkg of yeast
1/4 cup honey (seems to make the rolls more moist)
    1/4 cup oil
    1 tsp. salt
4 cups wheat flour (sometimes I do half wheat half white)
    Put yeast in water
    Add rest of wet ingredients
mix dry ingredients in another bowl
    add wet ingredients to dry
knead until it forms a ball
    form into 1/2 inch balls
    spray muffin pan
put 3 balls into each muffin holder
    let rise for 10 minutes
Bake at 350 for 12-15 minutes
    Best eaten warm with butter
    enjoy!!!!

    Ms. Paradis, thank you!

Rebecca, it is really a time saver! Smaller scale might be easier, you should definitely try it!

Carol, thank you so much for the tip! I love that idea!!! No, I had never heard of them before!

Aimee, you are so sweet!! Thank you so much...it's good to see you again!

Jaala, CONGRATULATIONS!!! Awww baby girls are sooooooo sweet! I know you thought you were having a boy, but isn't it funny how things can change? I thought I was having a boy when I was pregnant with my daughter, and didn't know for sure till I gave birth to her! What a surprise!

Shelly, thank you so much for that awesome recipe!

    Bethany,
Reading how you were cleaning motivated me to start some cleaning of my own since the miscarriage. It seems I have a ton of "stuff" for goodwill and the recycling place. Thanks for the motivation.
