I've been tagged! Time to write about Goals!

Gotta Get Goals

I've been tagged by Samantha to share my top 5-10 goals!

1.) Dome house
My husband and I have had a goal to build a dome house one day. Read more about dome houses here.
This is my biggest goal right now.  Dome houses are made strong enough to withstand a level 5 hurricane!    We have lots of tornados around here, so going into a storm pit every time we have a tornado warning is NOT my idea of fun!   I can't wait till we have a home where when a storm hits, we can just sit back, relax, and invite others over till it's over!
Another great thing about Domes is that it costs a lot less in heating and cooling expenses every year.
Plus, they're unique, and I'd have a lot of fun painting murals all throughout the house.
Here is the plan that James and I are looking at:

2.) To have more children

I think that's easily apparent by going to my blog, that I want to have more children.

3.) To finish painting murals throughout the entire house.

I have mentioned it on my website before, I plan to paint a mural on every wall of our house!  So far, what I have completed is:  The livingroom walls, the kids bedroom walls, the bathroom walls and door, half of the kitchen walls (still working on the diner mural), part of a wall in the dining room.... I still have plenty of walls left to paint murals on!

4.) To become a better organizer.

This one is tough for me!   I'm trying ..maybe one day I'll get to the point I'd like to be at!   There was a time I was very organized, and that was when I was pregnant and nesting.   There also was another time, when I was using the Home Management Binder.   As long as I kept using that every day, the house stayed clean and neat. I need to start using it again, to keep things nice again!  Maybe I'll revise it a little and try again.   My biggest problem is consistency!   Some days my house is perfect....other days it's awful!

5.) To homeschool all of the kids all the way through high school.

This won't be easy, especially once the kids get old enough where they're doing stuff that I don't understand how to do myself, but I will just have to learn right alongside them!    I'm determined to make it all the way with all my kids.

Yay! I think I need to add "get organised" to my goals too! I also remember a day when I used to be so sorted. After having Caleb my filling especially has gone totally haywire! I would like to know what you do with all your kids artworks? I used to paste Calebs pics into a large scrapbook, but it's getting a bit out of hand now. I read something in one of your posts about a memory box? What is that?

I had never heard of Dome houses before. That's neat! :o)

We Homeschool. Grade 4 currently. I've read that the upper grades aren't so bad because the children , by that time, are becoming more independent in their studies. I sure hope for us that is true. :o)

    Bethany,

I feel sure that the Lord will bless you with more children. Just keep praying.

I love the dome home idea. My husband and I used to want to do that. They are pretty cool.

As for homeschooling - I have homeschooled all 4 of mine and my first two are now in college - one is a junior and one is a freshman and they're both on the Dean's List. I homeschooled through high school. Believe me, you can do it. By the time they are that age, they are learning independently and if they have questions, you have the teacher books! Also, I re-learned so much along with my children. You will do fine. I personally believe that the hardest part of homeschooling is the early years when you are teaching reading and math.

Just remember that God is with you on your journey and talk to Him every day. Things will work out.

    Bethany,

I really like the floor plan on the dome house.

BTW, this is off topic, but have you done any oamc lately? I look forward to hearing about it when you do. I am working on doing more oamc and I've enjoyed reading about what has worked for you.

    Thanks and blessings

The monolithic dome houses look so cool! I just saw a presentation about them at a local school board meeting. They seem like the perfect building: safe, energy efficient, lots of space, etc.
Also I want to say, "Thank you" for being an inspiration to all us Mommies out here!

Heather, thank you so much for your kind words! I really do hope that it'll be soon!

Samantha, My memory box is a large cardboard box filled to the brim with pictures that the kids drew. I do have some binders with those clear page covers, that I fill wish the kids pictures too....just haven't had time to make enough books to put all the pictures in yet! It would look a lot nicer if I did them all that way!

Lisa, and Gena, thank you for the encouragement! I think you're probably right!

Carol, I'm sorry.....I feel like I have really slacked off lately, with OAMC. I really do need a swift kick in the pants to get started again. The last time I did OAMC I was having morning sickness, and then after the miscarriage, I didn't feel like doing it...then I had broken my toe, and didn't feel like doing it.... now I have no excuse! I need to get started soon...maybe in the next two weeks? I'll try to get a plan together!

Sara, you're right, dome houses are sooooo great! I think they would be perfect for schools, especially after recently, in a town nearby here, several students were killed when a tornado hit the school and demolished part of it...
    It was so sad.

Thank you so much for your sweet comments...it means a lot to me!

    Bethany,

That's totally understandable with all you've had on your plate.

I am so inspired by reading your past posts on oamc. I'll look forward to the future ones too.

    Have a blessed day.
