Herb Garden is started! :)

Remember how I said that I was going to start a little Medicinal Herb garden?  Well, I finally got it started tonight.     Bonnie and I planted all the seeds... the Herbs we have are: Echinacea, Milk Thistle, Baikal Scullcap, Yarrow, German Chamomile, St. Johnswort, Burdock, Fever Few, Lemon Balm, Valerian, Cayenne, and Astragalus.      Bonnie loved putting her fingers in the dirt and pushing the seeds in.

I can't wait to see what happens next..how long each herb will take to sprout and all of that.   It will be a great learning experience for the kids also.  This is the first time I have done this, so I'll be learning as I go along.

I bought a great book, "The Complete Book of Herbs",  which is amazingly thorough..... including things I wouldn't have even thought of, such as herbal cosmetics recipes!

I'll be sure to post updates on this ...well, as long as this isn't a total failure!

Oh and by the way, we had Bagels for breakfast again this morning....I cooked some onions and put them on the tops, and it really made them irresistible!

You are so adorable! I read your blog frequently and am amazed that you do all you do with small children. I am the mother of 5 (1 in Heaven), and I homeschool. When mine were very young, I never baked or planted in the garden! You also remind me so much of my niece that I adore and she just had her first little one. God bless you in all that you do!

P.S. I was also praying for you throughout your miscarriage. I lost my 4th baby and still miss it today. The grieving is over, but I will never forget the child I carried. I love the fact that you planted trees in memory of your little one in Heaven.

Those bagels look so yummy! And thanks for the motivation for starting an herb garden. I will be starting a new life as a SAHM (my last day at work is Thursday) and this is one of the first things I want to do with my girls!
