A little weinie dog :)
Last night, while I was laying down and trying to sleep, I saw a shadow in the darkness that reminded me of a weinie dog.
I thought, Hey! A weinie dog would be a perfect stuffed toy!
I reached for the notebook that I leave beside my bed for moments just like this, and wrote down "make a weinie dog", then went back to bed.
This morning, I looked up Dachshunds online to see what they looked like, so I could at least "try" to get the proportions right (although I really did want to make sure the body was super long, for the cuteness factor), and tried my best to make up a pattern to make a 3d stuffed toy. My kids watched as I made it and adjusted the pattern on paper. I had a great fabric that my sister, Jennifer, had brought over. It's fuzzy and brown. It is so, so soft.
I had just enough material to make the dog with!
The first time I attached the head to the body though, I somehow managed to attach his head to his little hiney! I KNEW something wasn't right! lol
I detached the head from the body, and put it in the right spot. I had to make a few adjustments, but it turned out ok I think! I'm very happy with the toy. I wasnt even finished with it, when Noah started to pull it away from me. Then he hugged it. It was the sweetest thing. This is why I love making these stuffed toys.
