Being busy around here doesn't stop :)
The church I belong to requested that I paint an old black chest and turn it into a treasure chest for Children's church. I wondered how I would fit it into my schedule, but was able to work it in. I finally finished it today.
It wasn't too much work.... here's what I did to make the chest:
First, I painted the black box brown (with lighter and darker brown streaks) like this:

Then, I quickly brushed on dark lines to make it appear like wood, and added some stripes with gold paint:

Finally, here is the finished chest. All I have to do now is cover it in polycrylic to make it shine and keep it durable.

Thank you, Jill! I just took it to the church today, and they haven't seen it yet. Hopefully it will serve the purpose well!
