October Prep day!

Yesterday was preparation day, and I decided to not only prepare, but to make a few meals too, just to save time for today.   I made 10 meals yesterday!

Here's what I did first:

First I took the 1 lb of bacon, lined it all on a cookie pan, and put it in the oven- this is a huge time saver, plus, the bacon stays flat instead of curling up!

Next, I made broccoli soup...I didn't remember to take a picture before I bagged it, but this is what it looked like (from an image I found on Google.com)

And this is the broccoli soup in the baggies (Bonus- was able to make 4 meals out of it instead of just 3!).  They were already ready for the freezer!

Next, I put two chickens in the new crockpot James bought me last month! (My last one would only have fit one, and it was a tight squeeze!)

And FOUR chickens in the oven:

The ones in the oven were finished in about 3 hours:

But it took the crock pot ones about 7 hours to completely cook through.

I diced up 16 cups of diced potatoes:

1 bag of the potatoes went into this soup:

MMMmmm delicious...the bacon is in there too (not all of it).  It smells tantalizing!

I put the meatloaves in the oven next:

I made bread dough (instead of buying it frozen), and there it is rising, along with all the bagged veggies I chopped:

And here is the meatloaves (without the ketchup topping), and the Magnificent Casseroles. They were cooling to be ready to stick in the freezer.

I was able to wrap the meatloaves in glad freezer plastic, then put them into gallon sized bags to freeze. The casseroles, I covered in freezer plastic, pushing it into the corners of the glass, so that there would be barely any air in there, then I covered with a second layer of plastic wrap, and secured it tightly.

That is what I did yesterday...and I'm already halfway done with today's work, and will post pictures of my progress when I'm done!

Keep checking in for an update!
