Quiverfull articles I like

My husband and I made the decision to be Quiverfull Minded about 3 weeks ago.   We have decided not to use birth control of ANY kind anymore.

This doesn't mean that we'll automatically be having 20-30 kids or that I'm just going to be a baby machine (although I don't mind the thought of that!)..... being quiverfull means that you believe that God is the one who opens and closes the womb, and we give God the choice to be in control of the womb, instead of trying to take on that control ourselves.   That could mean we have 3-4 children- it could mean we have 20.

What we have decided to do is TRUST that what God calls blessings actually ARE. And to believe that when God says that he will provide for our needs and that we should not worry about these things because they are in HIS control, not ours.  He will not give us a blessing and then not provide for us and the blessing he has bestowed on us. As long as we are trusting fully in his Grace I believe that we will always have the things we need.  We might not be able to buy all the material goods we'd like, but we will have all of our NEEDS fulfilled, and we will be blessed spiritually beyond anything we could ever be blessed materially!

I never would have believed a few years -or even months ago- that I would have thought birth control was wrong... I thought it would have been ridiculous to even imagine such a thing!

I've always thought abortion was wrong, but always assumed that birth control was ok with God.
That is, until I read that only for the last 60-80 years has it been accepted by Christians, and before then, for about 1900 years it was considered a detestable sin.

I had to know WHY that would be after finding that out!  It seemed so strange that people would have thought it was WRONG to PREVENT conception.

I researched it and researched it and realized that it is not Biblically right to use birth control, Children are ALWAYS referred to as blessings in the Bible.  No exceptions!  If they were burdens, wouldn't God have referred to them sometimes as burdens, or as causing hardships on large families?  Or telling us to be more responsible in planning our children?   Why would the Bible always say that GOD opens and closes the womb, if it were not so?   The Bible never  says that we are to plan our families, that "Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it".  From now on, I've decided to let the Lord build our house!

Here are some wonderful articles I've found online which have helped me  over the last few weeks.   If you are interested in becoming quiverfull, please look over them, or even if you're just interested to see what it's all about.

Hi! Bethany ! I am glad that you have this conviction.

I have and still do want a big family and have issues with birth control myself.

However I am married to a man who is not against birth control and with my health problems both mental and physical and the fact that my husband has been unemployed for various reasons (most of which weren't his fault)...through most of our 8 yr marriage and we have 2 autistic blessings..kind of changes things for us.

My husband did say that after he gets through school..next year and if he can get a high paying job that we may try to have another blessing.

I am praying for that oppertunity..I miss having an infant around here.

God bless you ! looking foward to reading your blog more.

Congratulations! It is good to see another young couple put their trust in God. May you be abundantly blessed.

My husband and I both were "quiverfull" in theory before we even met. We were both told "Just wait....you'll soon change your minds". Well, we are 4 1/2 years down the road, and expecting our third blessing baby, and we are more convinced than ever that God knows best--we have seen His faithful provision and care through it all!

Your blog has been such a blessing to me. I actually came across your site by "chance" as I was googling Large Family Logistics. It has been a breath of fresh air to meet another young wife/mom of likemind. My husband and I are sort of pioneers in quiver-full thinking, homeschooling, etc. in our church/area. I've esp. liked your articles concerning miscarriages (as I had one this past July) and the Pill being abortificient (a topic I'm currently discussing on my blog). If interested, check out my wife and mom blog at: growthasawifeandmom.blogpsot.com
Looking forward to reading more of your articles. So neat to to have "stumbled upon" your blog.
