Trying the once a month cooking!

I decided that I was going to try once a month cooking about a week ago, and I'm really excited about it!    I found a great list online complete with ingredients, directions, and recipes for starting out!    I printed it out and will be going by that to start with!

This morning, I went to Lowes to pick up the deep freeze that James and I purchased two days ago, drove home, plugged it in.....

then I went back to the grocery store....There is a huge amount of stuff on the grocery list -after all, it's a months worth of stuff!
I had put so much in my buggy the first time that the woman at the register started laughing!  She was laughing so hard and so long that she had tears in her eyes!   It was sort of funny but LOL I mean, it tickled her funny bone for some reason, and she even called another cashier to help her out so she could show her how much stuff I had and they both started laughing. lol

I told them that I was going to try the once a month cooking thing, one of them seemed interested in doing it too so I told her to just send me an email and I'd give her the link.

Then I unloaded the groceries into the truck and then went back in the store to get a second buggy full, I had to get the cold items.
Well,  got home, unloaded all the stuff, and here's what the pantry looked like :

And the fridge:

And the kitchen table was covered in stuff and so were the counters, but I didn't get pictures of them.

Then I started working and here is what I was able to get done today:

You can't really tell how much that is from the picture.
Here's the list:

Two gallon sized bags full of ground turkey meat
Two gallon sized bags of cooked rice
Three gallon sized bags holding four fully cooked chickens
1 bowl of chocolate chip cookie dough
Some chocolate chip cookies (not much, just something to munch on while I worked)
1 gallon sized bag of chicken broth
Four bags of cubed bread
1 bag holding baked cornbread
1 bowl of pinto beans
4 bags of crushed chips
1 gallon sized bag of onions
quart sized bags of chopped cucumbers, bellpeppers, parsley, green onions, and garlic.
There's also a loaf of bread in the oven, and two more chickens cooking right now. So I can't go to sleep till they're finished cooking!

You also can't see it in the picture but I made beef stew, two gallons worth, and it's already in the freezer.

I'm pooped!   Tomorrow will be another day!
